Bongio (Bongio Rubinetterie) is an Italian faucet manufacturer, founded in 1936 by Mario Bongio in Alzo di Pella — a municipality on the shores of Lake Orta (Novara), the historic industrial district of Italian sanitary fittings. Mario Bongio combined brass craftsmanship with the ambition to conceive faucets as complete design projects: "Someone calls tap what for us every time is a project." The use of brass, Murano glass in collaboration with Venetian glassmakers and crystal gave the brand a singular character from the outset. The company survived the Second World War and expanded in the post-war period. Today his son Antonio Bongio leads the company; the third generation is represented by Grazia and Alessandra Bongio. The manufacturing focus remains in Alzo di Pella. An in-house electroplating and coating department ensures control over surfaces and finishing.
