Exteta
Exteta is a north-Italian premium brand for indoor and outdoor furniture, founded in 2006 as a start-up in the heart of the historic Brianza design district (Lombardy) — in Brenna (Province of Como) — and today positioned as a reference brand for bespoke luxury furniture in the residential and contract sectors. The founding impulse was unambiguous: to give exterior spaces the same architectural consideration and design integrity as interior rooms. The core material of Exteta is sapele mahogany (Sapele), which is also used in the construction of Venetian gondolas and the legendary Riva boats and is considered the most prestigious, highest-performance noble wood for outdoor use; it stands symbolically for Exteta's connection between craftsmanship and maritime tradition. All products are specifically engineered to meet the demanding requirements of the yachting sector — high wear resistance, weatherproofing and aesthetic sophistication. Natural, Matt and High Gloss finishes are applied by hand through a meticulous multi-step process. Studiopepe acts as Artistic Director of the brand. Luxury collaborations: Loro Piana Interiors (collection The Delight Chairs by Exteta, design Paola Navone), Jacquemus (Locus Solus — reissue of Gae Aulenti's 1964 collection as a Simon Porte Jacquemus special edition), Riva (Exteta × Riva, design Massimo Castagna — furniture collection drawing on the over 180-year history of the iconic boat builder).
Collection categories: Contemporary (contemporary designs) and Heritage (re-editions of classics by Franco Albini, Gae Aulenti and Marco Zanuso). Designer collaborations (selection): Paola Navone OTTO Studio (Moonlight — sofa system with aluminium or bronze legs and marble top), Massimo Castagna (Vieste, Caprera, 10th Joint — stone dining table), Studiopepe (Modernista — inspired by Le Corbusier and Marcel Breuer; Periscopio; Serele; Hikari — rechargeable portable luminaires), Ludovica + Roberto Palomba (Montecarlo). Materials: sapele mahogany, marble, aluminium, stainless steel, leather, outdoor fabrics. All products handcrafted in the Brianza workshops.
For architects and interior designers seeking for exclusive residential, hospitality and yacht projects a Brianza luxury brand that since 2006 with sapele mahogany — the material of gondolas and Riva boats — sets an independent standard for the premium segment of handcrafted outdoor furniture, transfers fashion-design prestige into outdoor furniture with Loro Piana Interiors, Jacquemus and Riva, and institutionalises the connection to the great tradition of Italian design with re-editions of Gae Aulenti, Franco Albini and Marco Zanuso — Exteta is one of the key addresses in the segment of haute-couture outdoor furniture from the Brianza.
