Not a classic showroom: at the Trilux Light Studio on Charterhouse Square in London, customers experience lighting solutions live — with the "Sphere of Light" at its heart.
Lighting manufacturer Trilux is heading abroad — twice over. In April the company opened a Light Studio in London, followed by a location in Madrid in May. These are explicitly not meant to be conventional showrooms, but rather spaces for working together.
In London, Trilux is based at Charterhouse Square in the Clerkenwell district, one of the city's leading design quarters, occupying around 200 sqm on the ground floor of a listed townhouse. During Clerkenwell Design Week from 19 to 21 May 2026, the studio hosted seven events across three days, closing with the TRILUX Light Club. The Madrid location spans two floors close to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and follows the same concept. The idea is identical in both places: customers can experience the lighting solutions live, test different applications and develop concepts for their requirements together with the on-site team.
At the heart of it is the "Sphere of Light", an immersive staging of expansive media surfaces, light scenes and sound; mirroring the course of daylight, the Light Studio becomes a changeable stage with shifting scenarios, applications and lighting moods. Added to this are areas for workshops, co-creation and training sessions run by the TRILUX Akademie.
For context: founded in Menden in 1912, the company employs around 4,000 people, has a presence in some 50 countries and produces at six plants across Germany and Europe, including in Germany, Spain and Poland. With the two studios, Trilux is further expanding its presence in two strategically important markets.
Trilux CEO Hubertus Volmert frames the move in business terms: "Projects are becoming more international and requirements more complex. Personal exchange in the respective markets is crucial in order to understand our customers' needs early on and to deliver projects together successfully."
