XAM is an Italian design furniture brand, founded in 2007 as the contemporary label of the historic manufacturing company Classicmobil. Classicmobil was established in 1964 by brothers Ascanio and Andrea Bernardelli in Agnosine (Province of Brescia, Lombardy) as a workshop for brass beds and home accessories. Over three decades of participation at Salone del Mobile Milan, IMM Cologne and High Point (USA) established Classicmobil as an international quality reference. The turning point came with the second generation: Anna Bernardelli could not find a bed in contemporary production that matched her vision — so she designed it herself. This first piece, named "ONE," marked the founding of XAM and deliberately drew on the metalworking expertise accumulated over decades by the parent company.
The XAM range has since expanded to cover all areas of living: tables and desks, chairs and armchairs, modular systems, wardrobes and bookcases, beds, upholstered objects and rugs. The design approach is deliberately anti-fashionable: slender, essential forms without reference to passing trends, distinguished by high material quality, precision of detail and a refined chromatic sensibility. Market positioning: upper-medium to premium segment. Distribution: Italy, major European markets, USA, Australia.
For interior designers and contract buyers seeking a northern Italian furniture brand with over 60 years of craft metalwork foundations, a timeless design language beyond seasonal trends and a complete residential programme from bed to table, XAM is one of the most substantial addresses in the premium Italian interior segment.
