Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet is an American premium brand for custom outdoor kitchens and grills — with more than a century of company history in American craftsmanship and metalworking, founded in 1906 in Kalamazoo (Michigan) as Kalamazoo Sheet Metal, specialising in custom sheet metal for the dairy industry. The company remained in family ownership until 2005; its worldwide success is owed to the great-great-grandson of the founder, who rediscovered his ancestor's original plans for an outdoor grill and took them into production in 1998 — then still as Kalamazoo Grill, with the revolutionary Kalamazoo Dual-Fuel Grill: the first grill worldwide in a fully sealed steel cabinet, for wood and charcoal cooking. 2005 name change to Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet; simultaneously development of a complete modular outdoor kitchen system.
