Verpan

Verpan is a Danish design company based in Horsens (Jutland), founded in 2003. The name is a compound of the first three letters of Verner and Panton — and defines the programme: the authorised custodian of the design legacy of Verner Panton (1926–1998), one of the most radical experimenters in Danish design history. Verpan works under licence from Verner Panton Design AG and in close collaboration with his widow Marianne Panton and her family.

The first product was the VP Globe pendant lamp (original design: 1969), relaunched by Verpan in 2003. In 2010 the brand extended into furniture: System 1-2-3, Cloverleaf Sofa, Barboy, Panto Chair and further re-editions. In 2020 Verpan joined the &Tradition group and is today a wholly owned subsidiary of the Frandsen Group (Frandsen Lighting, founded 1968). The Cloverleaf Sofa is produced exclusively for Prada boutiques worldwide. The FUN lamps are made from real seashells that Panton discovered on a trip to Malaysia.

For architects and interior designers who compose interiors within a coherent, contemporaneously produced mid-century pop reference framework and want to rely on historically documented, licensed editions, Verpan is the sole complete source for the Panton body of work — without compromise on authenticity or material quality.
