Serax is a Belgian design brand for contemporary homeware, tableware, lighting and furniture. The company was founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche — the brand name combines their first names. Starting as a small family business importing flower vases and pots, Serax gradually developed into an internationally recognised lifestyle brand. The decisive breakthrough came in 2009 with the collaboration with ceramic artist Roos van de Velde, whose tableware collection attracted interest from top-tier restaurants worldwide. Axel Van Den Bossche leads the company today; his wife Marie Michielssen serves as in-house designer. Headquarters: Kontich, Province of Antwerp, Belgium. Henry van de Velde Award 2014 — Belgium's highest design award.
The range covers tableware, glassware, cutlery, vases, pots, lighting, furniture, rugs and outdoor furniture. Serax collaborates with over 65 designers and artists worldwide. Collaborations include Ann Demeulemeester, Kelly Wearstler, Marie Michielssen, Marni, Yotam Ottolenghi, Paola Navone, Piet Boon, Sergio Herman and Vincent Van Duysen. The Serax range serves both end consumers and professional foodservice with restaurant-grade tableware of Michelin-star standard. Presence in over 80 countries.
Serax is for interior designers, hospitality buyers and international-level restaurants the Belgian key address for contemporary tableware and homeware — curated from collaborations with Europe's most relevant designers and artisanally realised by craftspeople from around the world.
