LEOLUX LX

LEOLUX LX is the contract and professional interior brand of the Dutch Leolux Furniture Group — a family of furniture brands whose history reaches back to 1934: the Zuid-Nederlandsche Clubmeubelfabriek (South Netherlands Club Furniture Factory) was founded on 9 May 1934 in Venlo (North Limburg, Netherlands, on the Maas) as a Dutch subsidiary of the German manufacturer Rhenania (Viersen). In 1948 brothers Jan and Ton Sanders acquired the company with family funds. In the 1950s the Sanders brothers began specialising in modern furniture — inspired by design from Italy and Scandinavia — and gave the contemporary range the brand name Leolux (after the lion in the ZNC logo: "Leo" is Latin for lion). LEOLUX LX was established as an independent brand specifically for architects and interior designers and for the professional contract and project sector. Production: entirely to order in Venlo, Netherlands. Current third generation: Sebastiaan Sanders (from 2012).

Sustainability profile: 67% own energy generation through solar and geothermal energy; goal: fully energy-neutral production; PEFC-certified wood; epoxy as a sustainable alternative to varnish; active reduction of the CO₂ footprint since the 1980s. Design philosophy: "Empowering Expression" — bespoke seating solutions that enable comfort, communication and interaction in residential, office and public environments. Designer collaborations: Frans Schrofer (Caruzzo — Red Dot Award), Boonzaaijer en Mazaïrac/Roy de Scheemaker (Pallone — 1989, iconic piece), Stefan Heiliger (Danaïde — electrically adjustable, sofa/lounger transformation), Yabu Pushelberg (Sen armchair). Product categories: stand-alone sofas, modular seating systems, armchairs, tables. Materials: leather (own processing), fabrics, wood, epoxy.
