LEOLUX LX is the contract and professional interior brand of the Dutch Leolux Furniture Group — a family of furniture brands whose history reaches back to 1934: the Zuid-Nederlandsche Clubmeubelfabriek (South Netherlands Club Furniture Factory) was founded on 9 May 1934 in Venlo (North Limburg, Netherlands, on the Maas) as a Dutch subsidiary of the German manufacturer Rhenania (Viersen). In 1948 brothers Jan and Ton Sanders acquired the company with family funds. In the 1950s the Sanders brothers began specialising in modern furniture — inspired by design from Italy and Scandinavia — and gave the contemporary range the brand name Leolux (after the lion in the ZNC logo: "Leo" is Latin for lion). LEOLUX LX was established as an independent brand specifically for architects and interior designers and for the professional contract and project sector. Production: entirely to order in Venlo, Netherlands. Current third generation: Sebastiaan Sanders (from 2012).
