KARPA is a design brand specialising in high-quality, handcrafted indoor and outdoor furniture in fibreglass — emerging in 2009 from the Portuguese company Albino Miranda, Lda. (Barcelos, Minho, Portugal) active since 1989, which started as the Gestos brand with a stone composite material developed by Albino Miranda for decorative sculptures, evolved to furniture combining stone with exotic wood and custom finishes, and in 2009 with the goal of internationalisation took on a new challenge: the KARPA brand, fibreglass-based, conceived for indoor and outdoor spaces. The manufacturer Albino Miranda, Ltd. today has around 40 employees. KARPA stands for creative, unique and luxurious products inspired by the organic forms, textures and colours of nature. In 2015 the GANSK brand complemented the portfolio for more elegant, simpler markets.
Design philosophy and materials: every piece passionately handcrafted by sculptor artist Albino Miranda (35+ years of sculpting experience) and a team of specialised professionals; fibreglass-reinforced resin as core material, combined with unique artistic techniques.
