Erba Idea is an Italian furniture brand from Brianza, north of Milan — a region internationally recognised for its tradition of high-quality upholstered furniture manufacturing. The family roots of the brand trace back to the early 1960s, when the company first participated in the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Its contemporary design profile took shape in 2007 when designer, painter and musician Giorgio Soressi assumed creative direction and established a distinctly recognisable aesthetic programme. In 2026, the brand was repositioned under its current name Erba Idea. The 800 m² showroom is located in a former steel mill immediately adjacent to the factory, where the early industrial architecture has been deliberately preserved.
The range covers sofas, armchairs, chaises longues, poufs, tables, lighting and hand-knotted carpets. The design language is colour-intensive, pop-inspired and deliberately theatrical in overall effect — a counterpoint to the industry's prevailing minimalism. The programme is divided into two lines: Heritage (preserved original designs) and Idea (contemporary reinterpretations). All products combine artisanal quality with industrial production methods, entirely in Italy.
Erba Idea addresses interior designers and project planners seeking an Italian upholstered furniture programme with a distinctive, colour-strong design identity for hospitality projects, boutique hotels and high-end residential contexts — manufactured in the traditional district of Brianza.
