Duravit
Duravit is a German designer bathroom company with an international market presence, founded in 1817 by Georg Friedrich Horn as an earthenware factory in Hornberg (Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg), initially producing exclusively tableware. In the 1950s the company switched from earthenware to porcelain and expanded its range to include sanitary ceramics; since 1960 the company has traded under the Duravit name. The decisive design impulse came in the 1980s through the first collaborations with Dieter Sieger; the international breakthrough was marked in 1994 by the collaboration with Philippe Starck, which produced Starck 1 — a complete bathroom programme of sanitary ceramics, furniture, bathtubs and accessories that remained on the market for almost thirty years and is considered a design classic. The Duravit Design Center in Hornberg — spanning over 1,500 m² and also designed by Philippe Starck — presents bathrooms, architectural history and design options including six walk-in test bathrooms. Today Duravit AG is an internationally operating group with 11 production plants and over 7,000 employees worldwide (locations in Germany, Egypt, China, France, India, Tunisia and Turkey).

Proprietary technologies: DuroCast® (mineral cast), DuraCeram® (ultra-thin ceramic walls), c-bonded (seamless connection of washbasin and vanity unit), c-shape (seamless forming), HygieneGlaze (antibacterial), SensoWash® (digital shower-toilet technology).
