Colombo Design

Colombo Design is an Italian family company for door handles, window handles, furniture handles and bathroom accessories, founded in 1990 in Terno d'Isola (Province of Bergamo, northern Italy, Via Baccanello 22). The company immediately established itself as an international reference address for Made-in-Italy design and manufacturing in the hardware and bathroom accessories segment. The first product line — door and window handles — was created under the supervision of founding Art Director Carlo Bartoli, in collaboration with renowned design studios. From 1993 Colombo Design expanded the programme to include bathroom accessories, building on the strong production and design capabilities of the handle collection. Since 2000 the company has operated its own PVD facility (Physical Vapor Deposition) — a high-vacuum coating technology ensuring stable colour tones, high surface hardness, UV resistance and corrosion protection.

Designers (selection): Carlo Bartoli (founding Art Director), Jasper Morrison, Jean-Marie Massaud, Konstantin Grcic, Michele De Lucchi, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Matteo Ragni, Spalvieri & DelCiotto, Alberto Meda (MADI handle — Compasso d'Oro Honourable Mention 1998), Marco Acerbis (PRIUS handle — Compasso d'Oro Mention 2008). Certifications: ISO 9001, UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 (Green Made — certified environmental management system). Export: 56+ countries. Warranty: up to 30 years on selected products. Range: door handles (solid brass, various PVD and galvanic finishes), window handles, furniture handles, bathroom accessories (freestanding and wall-mounted), shower enclosures. Made in Italy.

For architects and interior designers, Colombo Design is the most comprehensive and design-diverse Bergamasque address for door handles and bathroom accessories — with a designer portfolio that unites Jasper Morrison and Konstantin Grcic alongside Alberto Meda, a PVD technology that has become an industry standard, and a 30-year sustainability certification that treats Green Made not as a promise but as a documented production principle.
