Woodnotes is a Finnish design company, founded in 1987 by textile artist Ritva Puotila and her son Mikko Puotila — still family-owned to this day. The founding concept was singular: paper yarn as an autonomous design material, not as a substitute for other fibres, but valued for its own intrinsic properties — lightness, rustle, natural colour, hygiene.
