Walters (officially Walters Wicker) is an American family business for outdoor and indoor living furniture, founded in 1935 in Manhattan as a family-run upholstery and repair workshop. From these origins it developed into a renowned supplier of wicker furniture sourced from Hong Kong — popular with New York diplomats. In the 1990s Walters expanded consistently into the hospitality segment: durable woven resin and powder-coated products extended the range; a showroom was opened in the D&D Building, New York (Suite 538, 979 Third Avenue), which remains active to this day. The company is now in its fourth generation and is regarded as a leading address in the upscale outdoor living segment for residential and hospitality clients in the USA.
The range covers collections in aluminium, teak, woven resin and rope: Palmer, Sorrento, Varenna, Wainscott, Coast (Jeffrey Bernett), Reverie (Marcel Wanders), Mecox (Jeffrey Bernett) and Lifesaver (Sasha Bikoff). Awards: Best of Year nominations for the Mecox Chair and Reverie Collection; BOY finalists 2023 for Lifesaver and Coast. Walters also acts as US distributor for Manutti (Belgium), Ethimo (Italy), Drucker (France) and BOX Furniture. Second showroom: Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles.
For architects, interior designers and hospitality project leaders seeking an experienced US curator for European and American premium outdoor brands with its own design collection, contract capacity and Manhattan showroom representation, Walters is the most connected address in the New York outdoor contract segment.
