Van Rossum

Van Rossum is a Dutch furniture manufacturer based in Bergharen (Province of Gelderland), founded in 1978. The company makes exclusively handcrafted solid wood furniture — primarily from FSC-certified French oak sourced from the French National Forestry Service, from stands of at least 50 years' standing. After delivery, the timber rests for a minimum of two years before reaching the workshop, where it is further seasoned in climate-controlled chambers for up to twelve months. Waste wood, bark and sawdust are processed internally into energy or diverted — no fraction goes to landfill.

The range covers dining tables, chairs, stools, sofas, armchairs, sideboards, bookshelves and bespoke kitchens (UMAMI Kitchen, designed by Thomas Haarmann, in oak and Belgian blue stone). Characteristic features are brushed and oiled surfaces that keep the wood grain visible, full solid-volume proportions and carefully executed joinery. International design partners include Thomas Haarmann, Christophe Delcourt (ABI chair), Pieter Maes (YETI chair), Studio KO (CAIRN collection, Salone del Mobile 2025), Andrea Tognon and Xavier Dohr. Current collections: PLAY, ABI, BEAM, CAIRN.

For architects and interior designers seeking contemporary solid wood furniture with a consistent sustainability chain, craft quality at the highest level and an international design roster, Van Rossum is the prominent address in the European oak furniture segment — manufactured in the Netherlands, distributed worldwide.
