Unopiù was founded in 1978 in Soriano nel Cimino (Tuscia, Lazio) — as Italy's first company dedicated exclusively to outdoor furniture design. The name plays on the concept of una stanza in più (one more room): the conviction that outdoor spaces deserve the same attention as interiors. The first catalogue appeared in 1982 with wooden garden furniture still part of the range today. In 1988 the Amanda hammock appeared — an instantly iconic product that brought Unopiù to international recognition.
The range covers sofas, armchairs, dining tables, sun loungers, umbrellas, pergolas (including Shibuya, designed by Ferruccio Laviani), gazebos, lighting and textile accessories. A key proprietary technology is WaProLace® — a synthetic fibre patented by Unopiù that resists UV rays, salt, chlorine, mildew and sunscreen and is fully recyclable. Timber: Grade A teak from state-certified Indonesian plantations. Flagship stores in Milan (Brera) and Paris (Boulevard Saint-Germain) as well as Cannes, Madrid and Munich. Contract references include the Bulgari Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Greenwich Hotel New York and Four Seasons Hawaii.
Unopiù is the reference address for planners and hospitality buyers seeking a complete Italian outdoor range with decades of materials development, a proprietary retail network and documented contract experience in luxury hotels and residential projects.
