Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand founded in London in 2002. The eponymous founder and Creative Director Tom Dixon was born in 1959 in Tunisia. Entirely self-taught, he first made his name as a welder and furniture designer with salvaged-furniture pieces. The S Chair (1991), produced by Giulio Cappellini, is in the permanent collection of MoMA New York. Dixon served as Creative Director of Habitat from 1998 to 2008. He was awarded the OBE in 2001 and the CBE in 2025.

The brand employs over 100 people and is present in 90 countries. Headquarters is the Coal Office in London's King's Cross — a former coal yard now operating as office, showroom, workshop and restaurant. The catalogue spans over 600 products: lighting (Mirror Ball, Copper Shade, Beat, Melt), furniture (Wingback, Fan, Fat), accessories and fragrance. The interior design studio Design Research Studio delivers contract projects including Virgin Voyages, the Pullman Hotel Bercy Paris and The Manzoni in Milan.

Tom Dixon is the rare combination of a designer career, product brand and interior architecture practice under one roof. For hospitality planners, the brand is relevant both as a product source and as a creative partner for complete spatial concepts.
