TEXFEL® is a brand of FYTISA, a family business near Barcelona currently in its fifth generation. Felt manufacturing at this site dates back to 1841. In 1946, Fytisa was established as a specialist in wool felt production. In 1980 the company split: FYTISA took over synthetic non-woven fabric production, while Textil Olius continued the wool felt side.
TEXFEL® focuses on PET felts for acoustic and design applications. The material contains a minimum of 60% recycled PET, is flame retardant, abrasion resistant, soft to the touch and cuts cleanly without fraying. It can be freely shaped, thermoformed and produced in custom profiles. First presented as the Texfel® ECHO and Texfel® ACOUSTICS lines at ORGATEC Cologne 2022. Customers include architects, interior designers and OEM manufacturers of office furniture, lighting and wall cladding.
As one of the few companies with an uninterrupted manufacturing history stretching back to the 19th century, TEXFEL® combines industrial tradition with a consistent sustainability orientation — positioning itself in a niche that benefits directly from growing demand for recycled design materials.
