Scarabeo Ceramiche is an Italian manufacturer of design bathroom ceramics and furniture. The company was founded in 1974 by Giovanni Calisti and partners in Civita Castellana, Lazio — a town whose ceramic tradition reaches back to pre-Roman antiquity. Within a few years the Calisti family acquired sole ownership. In the early 1980s, Scarabeo became the first European manufacturer of ceramic bathroom accessories. In the 1990s the company set an international trend with the introduction of the countertop washbasin. In 2004 the plant was expanded; in 2008 a further facility opened in Fabrica di Roma, Lazio. CEO: Giampaolo Calisti, son of the founder. Export share: over two thirds of turnover; presence in over 40 countries.

The range covers washbasins (freestanding, wall-hung, countertop and undermount), sanitary ceramics (WC, bidet), bathroom furniture, shower trays, accessories and lighting. Reference projects include The Palm Dubai and Crown Casino Hotel Melbourne.
