RECARO Aircraft Seating is a German manufacturer of aircraft seats. The origins of the brand date to 1906: Wilhelm Reutter founded the Stuttgarter Carosserie- und Radfabrik in Stuttgart. In 1963, Porsche acquired the body production division; the remaining operation was renamed RECARO (REutter + CAROsserie). The first Recaro sports seat followed in 1965. First aircraft seats were produced in 1971. RECARO Aircraft Seating was established as an independent entity in Schwäbisch Hall in 1972. In 2011, the automotive division was sold to Johnson Controls; since then, RECARO Aircraft Seating has been the group's core business.

RECARO Aircraft Seating employs over 2,900 people. Production sites: Schwäbisch Hall, Poland (Świebodzin), South Africa (AAT Composites, fibre composites), China (Qingdao) and USA (Fort Worth, Texas). Revenue 2024: €576 million. Revenue 2025: €710 million (double-digit growth). CEO: Dr. Mark Hiller. Customers: Lufthansa, SWISS, Wizz Air, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Korean Air and Gulf Air. Seat categories: economy, premium economy, business and first class.
