Nobili is an Italian family company for bathroom and kitchen taps — today one of the largest tap manufacturers in Italy. The company's history begins in the 1950s with Carlo Nobili, a tap dealer in Borgomanero (Province of Novara, Piedmont). The quality of his brass taps led to a move out of the workshop scale: in 1970 the first factory was founded in Borgomanero, followed in 1974 by a further plant in Dormelletto, built by Alberto Nobili, the founder's eldest son. In the 1980s the company invested intensively in research into the ceramic disc cartridge and water savings — pioneering work in the European tap sector. 1990s: founding of the Nobili Technology Centre and a new production plant in Suno (Province of Novara) — one of the first European tap plants with zero-emission standard; photovoltaic system with 9,000 solar modules, 100,000 m² floor area. Today: managed by the founding family (children Alberto, Pierluigi and Maria Grazia Nobili + grandson Carlo Alberto Nobili), present in around 90 countries.
