Montana Furniture is a Danish family company for modular storage systems — founded in 1982 by Peter J. Lassen in Haarby on the island of Funen (Denmark). Lassen began his career with his father-in-law Fritz Hansen, subsequently worked with designers including Arne Jacobsen, Jørn Utzon, Piet Hein and Verner Panton and founded Montana from the conviction that every person has a need for freedom and personal expression. Today the company is led by Joakim Lassen, Peter J. Lassen's son — the fifth generation of his family in the furniture trade and great-grandson of manufacturer Fritz Hansen. Production: exclusively in its own plant in Haarby (Funen), 140+ skilled workers, 19,000 m² production site. EU Ecolabel since 2019 (entire Montana System including all MDF furniture) — one of the first furniture companies in Europe with this certification. Exclusively water-based lacquers since 2007.
