Mantellassi 1926
Mantellassi 1926 is a Tuscan furniture brand — founded on 8 April 1926 in Quarrata (Province of Pistoia, Tuscany) by upholsterer Macario Mantellassi, his son Remo and wife Elisa. The company emerged in an environment shaped by the artisanal reactivation of the furniture industry in the Province of Pistoia following the First World War. As early as 1932 Macario Mantellassi launched a Bauhaus-inspired furniture line — one of the first of its kind in the Italian market — and in 1934 a rationalist line followed: early evidence of the experimental aspiration that has defined the brand ever since. Today the fifth generation leads the company: Roberta Mantellassi with her sons Marco, Giulio and Carlo Mantellassi. Production is 100% anchored in Tuscany. An average of 50 projects per year worldwide; approximately 1,500 products per year.
Three core collections: Couture (neoclassicism and the 19th century as reference), Cosmopolitan (Déco style in a contemporary perspective, launched 2019, Nicola and Roberta Mantellassi) and Tribeca (industrial aesthetic of the 1960s/70s, Salone del Mobile 2017, Marco and Giulio Mantellassi — vintage sofas, armchairs, lamps from noble materials). Craft traditions: smelters, patinators, engravers, cabinetmakers, wrought iron experts of the ancient Tuscan school. Designer collaborations: Samuele Mazza, Alessio Mazza, Manzoni & Tapinassi, Gianfranco Gualtierotti, Andrea Perra, Martina Collina, Antonio Arena; 1980 Avant-Garde collection by Tiziano Lera (12 "Parrot" armchairs). Product categories: sofas, armchairs, chairs, tables, coffee tables, beds, chest of drawers, bookcases, bedside tables, lighting. Markets: Near/Far East, former USSR, Africa, Europe, Americas.
For architects and interior designers seeking for luxury residential, boutique hotel, yacht and demanding international contract projects a Tuscan furniture manufacture led in the fifth family generation since 8 April 1926 in Quarrata (Province of Pistoia, Tuscany) that with 100% Tuscany production, three clearly positioned style collections (Couture, Cosmopolitan, Tribeca), craftsmen of the ancient Tuscan school, designer collaborations from Samuele Mazza to Manzoni & Tapinassi and a design history from the 1932 Bauhaus experiment to the 2019 Cosmopolitan collection — Mantellassi 1926 leads in the fifth generation a Tuscan furniture manufacture that began in 1932 with a Bauhaus-inspired line and today draws three independent style worlds from 100% Tuscany production: Couture, Cosmopolitan and Tribeca.
