Knauf Italia

Knauf Italia is the Italian subsidiary of the Knauf Group — the global building materials company founded in 1932 by brothers Alfons and Karl Knauf in Germany (Iphofen, northern Bavaria), which opened its first gypsum plant in 1933 and began industrial plasterboard production in 1958. Knauf Italia was founded in 1977 as the Italian logistics headquarters of the Group in Castellina Marittima (Province of Pisa, Tuscany). The company has two production sites: Castellina Marittima (PI) and Gambassi Terme (FI) — both in Tuscany — as well as two multipurpose centres in Milan and Pisa as Knauf laying schools for specialist craftspeople. Unique within the Knauf universe: in 1998 Danilo Farinon founded the winery Campo alla Sughera in Bolgheri (Tuscany) — as an expression of Knauf Italia's deep bond with Tuscany and its culture of quality.
