K-array
K-array is an Italian manufacturer of professional audio systems — founded in 1990 in Fiesole (Province of Florence, Tuscany) by Massimo Ferrati, Carlo Tatini and his son Alessandro as HP Sound Equipment, initially as a rental company for audio and lighting technology for theatres, cinemas and town squares as well as a developer of broadcast studios for television and radio. The founders recognised early the potential of ultra-lightweight speaker systems — in 2005 HP Sound Equipment was renamed K-array and the headquarters relocated to San Piero a Sieve (Scarperia e San Piero, Province of Florence, Tuscany). Since then K-array has been developing its own audio solutions for live entertainment and the most demanding architectural installations and is today recognised as one of the most innovative high-performance speaker manufacturers worldwide. Products are distributed in over 50 countries and deployed in cathedrals, stadiums, theatres, restaurants and hotels.
Proprietary development: Slim Array Technology (SAT) — ultra-compact speaker systems with slim enclosures instead of traditional large boxes; allows instantaneous sound emission without resonance, significantly more sound pressure with faster transient response, particularly for percussion instruments. Product lines: Concert Series (Mugello, Firenze — SAT-equipped flat line array elements; Owl moving-head audio; Mastiff stage monitors for live events), Installed Sound (Anakonda KAN200 — flexible linear diffuser; Domino; Dragon; Kayman; Kobra; Lyzard; Python; Rumble; Thunder; Tornado; Turtle; Vyper), portable systems (Axle, Event, Pinnacle, Rumble), microphones, earbuds, monitors, amplifiers, subwoofers. Brand group: K-array (Pro-Audio), KGEAR (Smart Audio solutions), KSCAPE (architectural lighting + audio). BIM files available (Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, DXF, 3D Studio MAX). IP rating for outdoor installations. Surfaces: brushed stainless steel, polished stainless steel, 24-carat gold electroplating, customisable RAL colours.
For architects and interior designers seeking for hospitality, foodservice, cultural, event and public architecture projects an Italian world-market leader for professional ultra-slim speakers founded in Tuscany in 1990 and operating as K-array since 2005 that with the proprietary Slim Array Technology (SAT), architecturally invisible speaker systems in stainless steel, gold and special RAL colours and BIM planning documentation enables professional architectural integration — K-array has since 2005 delivered on the promise that sound creates an experience without affecting the aesthetics of a space: SAT technology in cathedrals, stadiums and hotels worldwide, from Fiesole and San Piero a Sieve, in over 50 countries.
