G_GRADO

G_GRADO — also listed as grado design — is a Chinese design brand for furniture and home accessories, founded in 2014 in Hangzhou (Zhejiang, China) by Alex Chai (creative director and co-founder). The name "grado" is borrowed from Italian (= degree) and programmatically formulates a new perspective on design: furniture should function as everyday objects in the best sense — accessible, natural and user-friendly. The company has an R&D centre in Deqing (opened 2018, >12,000 m², >40 employees, with CNC machines from Japan and Germany) and a headquarters in the WPark complex in Hangzhou (>70 employees). grado designs, produces and distributes independently and collaborates with international design teams from Italy, Germany, Spain and Canada.
