Established & Sons is a British furniture and lighting brand. It was founded during Milan Design Week 2005 by designers Sebastian Wrong and Mark Holmes, Wallpaper* publisher Alasdhair Willis, marketing specialist Tamara Caspersz and entrepreneur Angad Paul, CEO of the Caparo Group. Caparo's steel plants were originally intended to provide the production base. Following Angad Paul's death in 2015, the company was acquired by new owners (Vincent Frey/Pierre Frey, Patrick Mueller-Hermann and Ramzi Wakim). Sebastian Wrong returned as design director in 2017.
The programme covers chairs, sofas, tables, shelving, lighting and accessories — developed through collaborations with over 50 designers, resulting in approximately 200 products, a third of which are collectible editions. Notable collaborations: Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec (Quilt sofa, Grid system), Zaha Hadid (Aqua Table), Barber Osgerby (Zero-In Table), Philippe Malouin (Mollo sofa), Sabine Marcelis (Aura Light), Raw Edges (Stack Storage Unit) and Konstantin Grcic. Many pieces are held in museum collections. The brand collaborates with Steelcase for the workplace sector.
Established & Sons is the British design brand of the 21st century with the greatest international collector prestige — relevant for contract projects that seek a distinctive spatial character through design objects of cultural and institutional significance.
