ENRICO PELLIZZONI
Enrico Pellizzoni is a north-eastern Italian furniture brand for leather and hide furniture, founded in 1986 in Mariano Comense (Province of Como, Lombardy) — from a leather tradition dating back to the early 1900s. The Pellizzoni family began its leather career initially in the footwear sector but rapidly repositioned into furniture leather processing. In 1988 the company moved into its current production complex of 4,000 m², where all production phases — from leather cutting through stitching and upholstering to surface finishing — are carried out by hand. In 1990 the second generation joined the company: Alessandro Pellizzoni supported his father Enrico in the company management. Since 2011 the design studio Bartoli Design has held the art direction, initiating a new phase in product development with deepened material and technology research. Enrico Pellizzoni is a member of the consortium "Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana" (vegetable-tanned full-grain leather from Tuscany) and uses exclusively plant-tanned full-grain leather from EU states, tanned in Tuscany using only natural substances.
The leather is produced from bovine hides from the shoulder section that come from food production — no animal is killed solely for furniture production. The characteristic small veins, wrinkles and imperceptible irregularities on the surface attest to the naturalness of the material and make each hide unique. Finishing is carried out with pigments and casein resins with very low toxic content. Product range (selection): chairs (Alex, Bizzy, Couture, Elena, Frenchkiss, Ledermann, Pasqualina), relax armchairs (Billie, Lullaby, Mood), tables and coffee tables (Strato, Abaco, Butterfly), office chairs and desks, bookcases, mirrors, luminaires, partitions, indoor swings. Markets: Europe, Asia, USA (under the brand name Pellizzoni USA Inc.). Staff: 20 people.
For architects and interior designers seeking for executive, residential and contract projects a north-eastern Italian leather furniture brand rooted since the early 1900s in the Pellizzoni family tradition, founded as a brand in 1986, documenting an ecologically verified leather provenance with the "Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana" label, and combining an internationally oriented design competence with Bartoli Design as art direction — Enrico Pellizzoni is one of the key addresses in the segment of handcrafted north-eastern Italian leather furniture from Como.
