CUF Milano
CUF Milano is an office furniture brand from Milan, founded in 2017 by Centrufficio S.p.A. and presented to the public for the first time at Orgatec 2017 in Cologne. Centrufficio S.p.A. — the parent company — was founded in 1986 by Roberto Motti in Milan, initially as a small trading company for office furniture and partition walls. In the mid-1990s Centrufficio made the transition to own production of office furniture, chairs and partition walls. In 2009 Roberto Motti's daughters Rossana, followed by Chiara and Aurora, joined the company. Today Centrufficio operates 22 own showrooms in northern Italy, three warehouses and three production sites. The central warehouse in Pioltello (MI) covers approximately 20,000 m² and enables prompt delivery for many products. Turnover is approximately €53 million, with a workforce of around 189 to 200 employees. Centrufficio was among the first Italian companies to meet the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) of the Italian Ministry of the Environment — including requirements on formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds and other potentially harmful substances.
CUF Milano stands for "Made in Milano": all projects and furniture are designed in the design capital — from the initial idea through technical drawings to prototype. A dedicated team of 12 in-house architects handles office planning from preliminary design through to executive planning, including full turnkey capability. Designer collaborations (from 2017): Progetto CMR, Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri, John Bennett, Sakura Adachi, Matteo Silverio, Studio Origoni-Steiner. Products: desks, conference tables, glass partition walls (Jaleed), acoustic solutions, office chairs, lounge systems (Diva — modular upholstered furniture system), outdoor line (Fusion Outdoor), executive line (Bold). Awards: Fusion (Bennett/Adachi) — German Design Award 2020, Archiproducts Design Award 2020. Sustainability: SuperSalone 2021 — bioplastics derived from coffee grounds, panels derived from flax and hemp seed oils; member of the FiberEuse consortium (Politecnico di Milano) for circular economy in furniture production.
For architects and workplace designers seeking a fully Milan-developed office furniture programme with in-house planning competence, turnkey capability and a substantiated sustainability approach, CUF Milano is the most direct address within the Centrufficio ecosystem — with the German Design Award as external quality evidence and a range extending from individual workstations to fully acoustically planned office landscapes.
