Ceramica Dolomite

Ceramica Dolomite is an Italian sanitary ceramics manufacturer, founded in 1965 in Trichiana (now Borgo Valbelluna, Province of Belluno, Veneto) — at the foot of the Belluno Dolomites. The company was established by three experienced industry managers with private capital and state support in the context of reconstruction following the devastating Vajont landslide of 1963. From 1969 the company produced complete bathroom suites. Over the following decades the workforce grew to over 1,000 employees and the company collaborated with renowned designers including Marco Zanuso, Luigi Molinis and Renzo Piano. Ceramica Dolomite introduced the first semi-recessed washbasin to market — a typological innovation that permanently changed the organisation of the bathroom space. In 1995 the company became the first in the sector to receive ISO 9001 certification. In the 1990s Ceramiche Senesi and Tenax were acquired. In 2013 a high-efficiency cogeneration plant was commissioned, with steam from the kilns generating energy for the street lighting of Borgo Valbelluna. In 2022 a group of four entrepreneurs together with Invitalia took over the site and brand to reposition the company.

Production area: approximately 130,000 m² total, 70,000 m² covered; entirely in Borgo Valbelluna. Current collections: OLTRE System (washbasins, shower trays, ceramic tops with free forms and deconstructed lines — ICONIC AWARDS 2024: Interior Products, Bath and Wellness category; ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award for product strategy), Mia+ (modernisation of the Mia sanitary range, wall-hung, invisible fixings). Certification: 100% Made in Italy (Institute for the Protection of Italian Producers, IT01 guidelines). Products: bathroom suites, washbasins, WCs, bidets, shower trays, bathtubs; also kitchen and community space solutions.
