CAME
CAME is an Italian family company for automation, access and building control systems, founded in 1972 by Paolo Menuzzo near Treviso (Veneto) as CM Costruzioni Meccaniche — with the aim of developing automatic systems for gates, one of the first companies of this kind in Italy. The acronym CAME stands for CAME Cancelli Automatici. The founding idea: to make automatic gates a product accessible to all, not just privileged buyers. First iconic products: FROG (first underground gate drive system with limit switches from the control panel) and BIMBO, both in the 1970s. In 2004 a series of acquisitions began, leading to the formation of the CAME Group. Paolo Menuzzo's son Andrea Menuzzo today serves as President of CAME S.p.A. The company has 11 factories, 10 R&D centres, branches in 20 countries and a worldwide distribution network. Brands: CAME, CAME BPT and CAME GO (residential and industrial), CAME Parkare, CAME Urbaco, CAME Ozrak (architectural and urban projects).
Product portfolio: gate drives (sliding, swing, garage), road barriers and bollards, turnstiles, parking columns, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, video entry systems (XVP panel: 7" touch display, optical bonding, tempered glass, weatherproof), burglar alarm systems, home automation (QBE — wireless building control with no new electrical wiring), thermoregulation. Digital platform: CAME CONNECT (cloud-based, all systems controllable via app). Archiproducts Design Award: double winner (including XVP panel). Reference projects: Place du Casino Monte-Carlo, Expo Milano 2015 (access system), Gatwick Airport London, Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Eiffel Tower (ground-level access security).
For architects, general contractors and real estate project developers, CAME is the most complete European provider for integrated access automation — with a product depth ranging from garage door control to secured access systems for major stadiums and World Heritage sites, and a design ambition that has earned the company two Archiproducts Design Awards.
