BuzziSpace
BuzziSpace is a Belgian design and acoustics company, founded in 2007 in Antwerp by Steve Symons (founder and CEO) and Tom De Vrieze. The starting point was a single, proprietary material: BuzziFelt — a felt made from 100% recycled PET bottles that simultaneously functions as acoustic absorber and design element. Still in 2007, BuzziSpace brought its first acoustic partition and wall panel solutions to market. The company is today positioned as a partner brand of Haworth — one of the globally leading workspace solution providers — which has considerably strengthened its global market penetration. Registered headquarters: Kontich (Belgium). Production facilities: Bladel (Netherlands) and High Point (USA). Showrooms: Antwerp, New York, Chicago, Cologne, London, Aachen. BuzziSpace Studio is the in-house design team; external designers are additionally engaged.
The product portfolio covers three core areas: acoustic solutions (wall panels, ceiling panels, partitions, room dividers, visual screening, privacy booths, desk dividers), lighting (acoustically effective pendant lamps — including BuzziLight, BuzziShade, BuzziZepp/Alain Gilles + BuzziSpace Studio 2018) and furniture (sofas, armchairs, poufs, tables, sideboards). All products are tested to six certification categories: electrical safety, fire safety, mechanics, hazardous substances, sustainability and acoustics. Materials: BuzziFelt (100% recycled PET), BuzziFabric (recycled wool), acoustic foam, birch plywood, metal. Designer collaborations: Axel Enthoven (BuzziMe, 2012), Alain Gilles (BuzziMilk, 2014; BuzziZepp, 2018), Stäffan Thomasen (BuzziNordic), Stal Collectief (BuzziShade) and others.
For architects, workplace designers and facility managers, BuzziSpace is the most complete Belgian provider for integrated acoustic-furniture-lighting solutions in the modern work environment — with a product programme that consistently treats sound absorption as a design discipline, and a sustainability strategy that was present at the brand's founding and remains its foundation to this day.
