Bene AG is an Austrian office furniture manufacturer and workplace solutions provider headquartered with production in Waidhofen an der Ybbs (Lower Austria). The company's history goes back to 1790 — founded as a small joinery workshop in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. Industrial office furniture production began in 1951. In the 1980s international expansion commenced with the opening of showrooms in London and Moscow. In 1989 production moved to a new factory in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, which remains the company's centre to this day, designed by architect Laurids Ortner. Bene is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Subsidiary Bene Consulting provides consulting services and office project management; Bene Solutions is responsible for furniture design and production. Annual production: approximately 100,000 workplace furnishings, 10,000 metres of wall systems and 600,000 individual furniture items. International sales network: over 80 locations in 32 countries.
