Artceram

The.Artceram (company name: TheArtceram S.r.l.) was founded in 1987 in Civita Castellana (VT), Via Monsignor Tenderini s.n.c. — at the heart of Italy's most important ceramic production district. The founder and first entrepreneur was Valentino Brunelli. The company began by producing washbasins for the bathroom furniture industry. From 2000, the brand developed its own design identity through collaboration with international designers. The strategic turning point came in 2006 with the La Fontana collection — the first complete range combining sanitaryware and furniture elements with basin columns. The internal sub-line The.Artceram (with the definite article "The" — a nod to the quote from Roddy Doyle's 1987 novel The Commitments: "all the good bands start with a 'the'") was introduced in 2007 and has since been used to identify selected avant-garde design collections.

The programme today covers complete bathroom solutions: washbasins and vanity consoles, sanitaryware (WC, bidet — wall-hung and floor-standing), freestanding bathtubs (Livingtec material), shower trays, bathroom furniture (Mono, Opera, Relax, Hito), mirrors (illuminated, in ceramic), accessories and complements. Proprietary innovations: The.Reel (new flushing system with water vortex technology) and The.Saniglaze (antimicrobial glaze treatment). Long-standing principal designer: Meneghello Paolelli Associati (Milan, artistic directors since 2007). Awards: Red Dot (2009, 2011, 2016), ADI Design Index (multiple), Archiproducts Design Award (Brera 2023, Brooklyn 2024), ADI Ceramic Award 2018 (The One), ADI Booth Design Award 2024 (Dark Matter stand). ADI Design Index 2025 recognition for the Brooklyn collection and the Dark Matter stand at Cersaie 2024.

For architects and bathroom specification professionals, The.Artceram is the reference brand from the Civita Castellana ceramic district for design-forward, award-winning sanitaryware — offering complete bathroom solutions and a consistent positioning between material innovation and contemporary design culture.
