Teúkhō is an Italian furniture brand from Friuli that uses fossil wood as its core material. The brand is rooted in the Garzitto family, a long-established timber trading house in the region. The name derives from the ancient Greek term tékhne — art, creation, the act of making.
The material is the defining differentiator: Teúkhō processes subfossil tree trunks dated to between 5,000 and 6,000 BC. These logs are not yet fully petrified — they exhibit a particular elasticity, colouration and texture that cannot be artificially replicated. Every piece is a one-off. The range covers tables, benches, flooring, cabinetry, kitchen and restaurant surfaces, accessories and lighting.
Teúkhō addresses architects, interior designers and hospitality project developers who want to combine exceptional materials with contemporary design. The value of each object lies not least in its absolute irreproducibility — a quality that maps directly onto the demand for exclusivity in the contract segment.
