SCULPTURES JEUX

Sculptures Jeux is a furniture brand founded in 1973 by the French designer couple Ariane and Bernard Vuarnesson. Ariane Vuarnesson studied art at the École du Louvre in Paris; Bernard Vuarnesson completed his studies at the École Supérieure du Bois and the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris. From 1975 to 1980, both taught as professors of outdoor space design at the École d'Architecture Intérieure Camondo in Paris. The founding concept: furniture as playful sculptures that interpret and reinvent spaces. In 2011 the Venetian wood furniture company Bragagnolo Sas (Piombino Dese, Padua) acquired the brand; the Bragagnolo family business tradition dates to 1962, with founder Antonio Bragagnolo, and is today led by the third generation.

The range covers side tables, coffee tables, shelves, bookcases, wall systems, mirrors, consoles and occasional furniture — exclusively in wood, in oak, walnut, black-stained oak, lacquered finishes and further options. Production: 2,500 m², three 5-axis machining centres and an in-house lacquering facility. Certifications: CARB Type 2, EPA TSCA Title IV (low-formaldehyde-emission materials) and FSC-certified wood. 70% of production energy from photovoltaics. Biomass from production processes used to heat the facilities.

Sculptures Jeux is for interior designers and trade partners the playfully conceptual alternative to conventional occasional furniture programmes — combining the design heritage of a French founding couple of the early post-modern era with the craft precision of a north-eastern Italian wood furniture maker in its third generation.
