Avonite®

Avonite® is a global leading brand for acrylic solid surface materials in the architecture and design sector. The brand belongs to Aristech Surfaces LLC, a US manufacturer headquartered and producing in Florence, Kentucky, USA. Avonite Surfaces was founded in 1983 and was the first company in the solid surface industry to introduce a broad colour palette — at a time when the market segment consisted exclusively of pale neutrals. This pioneering character is maintained to this day. Production uses a continuous double-belt casting process that ensures exceptionally precise thickness tolerance and superior colour consistency across different production batches (ΔE < 1). Aristech Surfaces is now part of the specialty chemicals group Trinseo.

Material composition: 63% aluminium trihydrate, 35% acrylic, 2% pigments and binders. Avonite is thermoformable, non-porous, hygienic and has a subtle translucency enabling light effects in construction. The brand has been certified by SCS Global Services at the demanding "Indoor Advantage Gold" level for indoor air quality. The Right Size programme offers widths from 686 mm to 1,524 mm and lengths up to 5,181 mm without surcharge per m² for three standard widths — designed to minimise waste and material costs. Products: Solid Colours, Chip-Filled Patterns, Veined Patterns and the Studio Collection (translucent, luminous special colours). Avonite FLEX: patent-pending vacuum-formable special variant. Applications: wall cladding, worktops, washbasins, hotel bathrooms, hospitals, naval fit-out, retail.

For architects and interior designers, Avonite® is relevant whenever a seamlessly processable, formable and hygienic surface material with assured colour consistency and a broad format programme is required for ambitious interior and contract projects.
