Finsa is a Spanish company for the industrial transformation of wood — active for almost a century in the production of decorative and technical wood-based solutions for residential and construction use. The company history began in 1931 with a small sawmill in Portanxil (Ames, Province of A Coruña, Galicia). In 1937 Manuel García Cambón gave the project a legal form; in 1946 the company was registered under the name Financiera Maderera S.A. (FINSA). In 1965 particleboard production started. In the 1980s MDF, melamine-faced particleboard (MFC) and glue followed. In the 1990s veneered boards were added. Today Finsa is the oldest particleboard and MDF manufacturer in the Iberian Peninsula, with headquarters in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain), approximately 3,000 employees, 13 production sites in three countries (Spain, Portugal, France) and 18 branch offices. Annual turnover exceeds 700 million euros; production capacity is 3,100,000 m³/year.
