AMBIVALENZ is a German design label from Berlin, founded in 2012 by Malte Grieb. The brand positions itself as a response to demographic shifts in cities that demand new living concepts such as compact living and micro living. The company is based at Eberswalder Str. 34, Berlin. The brand motto is: "AMBIVALENZ — strikingly discreet."

The core product is the Fläpps System — a modular wall system of flat-lying, fold-out elements that individually function as a wall shelf, secretary, wardrobe or table, and in combination form a multifunctional wall system for living, working and entertaining. The Fläpps surfaces can be individually printed (from a motif collection or with custom designs). The modular sofa system Curt — developed in collaboration with German-Canadian designer Joa Herrenknecht — consists of cuboid cushion modules connected via adjustable straps and hooks (16 concealed connecting loops per module), configurable in millions of combinations: as a stool, daybed, two-seater or seating landscape. Covers are available in 17 colours and various materials (Trevira CS, velvet, wool, recycled wool) and are interchangeable by zip. Reference clients include: Hôtel Étoile Trocadéro Paris, Hôtel Les Charmettes Saint-Malo, Rapt Studio San Francisco and St. Bernward Hospital Germany.

For hotel operators, office planners and interior designers in urban contexts, AMBIVALENZ is relevant when space-saving, highly flexible and visually discreet furnishing solutions are required — with strong customisation capability.
