AA[nd] is a French furniture company based in La Chapelle-d'Armentières in the Hauts-de-France region. Since 1998, the family-run business has combined industrial manufacturing precision with artisanal craftsmanship, with the AA Butterfly© as its central product.

The AA Butterfly© is a contemporary reinterpretation of the BKF chair, originally designed in 1938 by architects Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Juan Kurchan and Antonio Bonet — one of the most recognised pieces of modern furniture design, included in the MoMA collection and originally produced in series by Knoll. AA[nd] manufactures the metal frame from recycled and recyclable steel in its own facility; the covers are sewn in a workshop in the Drôme. The chair is configurable across a wide range of materials and colours — from cotton canvas and linen to technical Batyline fabric and leather — with frame finishes available in white, chrome and black. Covers are sold separately and can be replaced over time.

For interior designers and hospitality planners, AA[nd] is relevant when a design-historically grounded, individually configurable and durable seating piece is required — with transparent provenance and a clear commitment to repairability.
