Treston is a Finnish manufacturer of ergonomic industrial workstations and furniture. The oldest predecessor company — GWS (G.W. Sohlberg), a tinsmith's workshop — was founded in Helsinki in 1876 and began manufacturing metal furniture for industry and offices in the 1930s. Treston Oy itself was founded in Turku in 1969. In 2015, Treston Oy and Sovella Oy (also a GWS successor) merged under the unified Treston name. Production facilities remain in Finland to this day, in the cities of Jyväskylä and Turku.
The company maintains subsidiaries in Germany, France, the UK, Sweden and the USA. In 2023, American company IAC Industries (Goodyear, Arizona) was acquired. Around 75% of revenue comes from exports. The product portfolio covers ergonomic workbenches (manual and electric height-adjustable), ESD workstations, industrial storage systems, mobile trolleys, industrial chairs and accessories. All products carry a 10-year guarantee. In 2022, Treston introduced the first industrially manufactured bio-plastic storage box (Treston BiOX, wood-based). Over 15,000 customers worldwide across electronics, mechanical engineering, logistics, laboratory environments and the public sector.
For planners, facility managers and industrial clients seeking LEAN- and 5S-compliant workstation systems with ESD protection, Scandinavian quality culture and guaranteed longevity (10-year warranty), Treston is the global reference supplier in the industrial workstation segment — manufactured in Finland, distributed worldwide.
