SLIDE is a northern Italian manufacturer of polyethylene furniture and lighting for indoor and outdoor spaces. The company was founded in 2002 by Giò (Giuseppe) Colonna Romano in Buccinasco, Province of Milan — building on 30 years of experience in processing plastic resins acquired in the houseware and garden sectors. In 2015, son Marco Colonna Romano took over management. Core process: rotational moulding of linear polyethylene — an emission-free process that produces fully recyclable single-material objects. Additionally: polyurethane injection moulding (soft and rigid). All process steps — engineering, moulding, finishing, assembly and lacquering — take place at the Buccinasco facility near Milan.
Philosophy: to elevate polyethylene as a starting material with an ironic pop spirit into a design icon. New development: the REBORN line (recycled plastic in serial production); collaboration with EcoBirdy (circular economy and design identity). Designers: Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone, Stefano Giovannoni, Karim Rashid, Marcel Wanders, Marc Sadler and Graziano Moro/Renato Pigatti. Range: chairs, bar stools, tables, lighting, bar counters, planters, benches and lounge furniture. Applications: residential, hospitality, contract and events. Notably short production and delivery times (approximately 2 weeks) — a critical advantage in the event and HoReCa segment.
SLIDE is for interior designers, event planners and hospitality designers the northern Italian address for colour-intense, illuminable and 100% recyclable polyethylene furniture — with a distinctive design language between pop irony and functional consistency and a production cycle that threads sustainability from material to process.
