Reform is a Danish kitchen brand. It was founded in 2014 by Jeppe Christensen and Michael Andersen in Copenhagen. The idea emerged because the founders saw the kitchen industry as design-stagnant. The original model: designer fronts and surfaces for IKEA METOD kitchen cabinet systems — developed in collaboration with acclaimed architects and designers. Reform subsequently developed its own patented cabinet system with a click connection (no screws required). The first store opened in Copenhagen in 2016, followed by New York in 2017, then Berlin Mitte, Cologne and Hamburg.
Designer collaborations: BIG (Bjarke Ingels), Norm Architects, Henning Larsen Architects, Afteroom, Sigurd Larsen, Muller Van Severen, Jean Nouvel and Inga Sempé. The range includes kitchen fronts, complete kitchen cabinets, bathroom fronts and furnishing accessories. Cabinet box production is in Germany. US distribution is through Design Within Reach. Reform explicitly positions itself between IKEA and luxury kitchens.
Reform is the most relevant new kitchen brand of the 2010s — a brand that pairs design quality through architect collaborations with pragmatic accessibility, and has successfully established itself in the international residential design market.
