Glimakra of Sweden is a Swedish company for acoustically optimised office furniture, sound insulation panels, partition wall systems and interior solutions for public spaces, based in Glimåkra (Municipality of Östra Göinge, Scania/Skåne, southern Sweden). The company was founded in 1948. From its founding until 1998, the manufacture of handlooms was an important part of the business. In the mid-1980s the company increasingly targeted designed interior products for public spaces. Since 2006 Glimakra manufactures custom-made windows for modern villas, apartment buildings and historically valuable buildings. Since 2012 the company produces wall and screen systems in high-pressure decorative laminate (HPL) for shower rooms, laundry rooms and dressing rooms. Many eminent designers have worked for the company in the context of ongoing collaborations. Production takes place entirely in-house in Glimåkra.
