Ethnicraft is a Belgian furniture brand, founded in 1995 in Antwerp by long-time friends Benoit Loos and Philippe Delaisse. The starting point of the brand's history was a single container of home decoration products and furniture accessories that Philippe Delaisse brought back from a trip to Indonesia and sold in Antwerp — an immediate success such that Loos and Delaisse soon began importing new containers regularly. Interest was so great that customers appeared at the Antwerp docks with numbered tickets. The partners then decided to design their own furniture and have it produced in Indonesia; the extraordinary Indonesian craftsmanship remains the heart of the brand to this day. Additional production facilities were established in Serbia and Vietnam. Ethnicraft is today represented in over 50 countries and maintains showrooms in cities including Paris, Amsterdam and London. The company controls all phases of the product life cycle — from conception through manufacturing and distribution to repair and recycling — as part of a sustainability strategy.

Core material and philosophy: solid wood and other natural materials; the conviction that a home should consist of objects with meaning and stories that make it a truly lived-in home. Designer collaborations (selection): Alain Van Havre, Dawn Sweitzer, Carlo Massoud, Nathan Yong, Jacques Deneef (N701 sofa). Product range: dining tables (incl. Teak Slice Dining Table, Mikado — brushed oak; Bok), chairs (Bok Dining Chair), sofas and armchairs (N701 sofa), beds, sideboards, shelving units, chests of drawers, accessories and decoration. Residential collections for all rooms: living, sleeping, dining, office, outdoor. Materials: oak, teak and other solid woods; hand-woven fabrics. Ethics: full process control from manufacturing to recycling.

For architects and interior designers seeking for residential, hospitality and contract projects a Belgian furniture brand that in 1995 emerged from an Indonesian container import in Antwerp, has built a global production base with solid wood craftsmanship from Indonesia, Serbia and Vietnam, pursues a sustainable corporate strategy with full process control from manufacturing to recycling, and offers a range with clear, timeless designs that gain character over time — Ethnicraft is one of the key addresses in the segment of timeless European solid wood furniture.
