Elli is an Italian design company for furniture and home accessories, founded in 2014 by Alessio Elli with the aim of developing a new stylistic concept in furniture design that connects fine Italian craft traditions with sustainable additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies. Elli describes itself as an "Artisan Innovator" and formulates with the concept of "New Made in Italy" a design philosophy based not on the machines used but on taste, vision, style, the ability to anticipate trends and the quality of concepts. Core production takes place in collaboration with the Milan-based company Caracol, a specialist in robotic large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM). The design process always begins with a hand sketch; technologies such as 3D modelling software and robots for additive manufacturing are means of realisation, not of conception. All products are manufactured exclusively in Italy; materials include recycled plastic, Tuscan marble, Emilian ceramics and Sicilian lava stone.
Product philosophy: "Made & Remade" — products are developed so that they can be fully recovered or reused at the end of their life cycle. Recycled and recyclable materials are a fundamental requirement for every design. Elli is one of the first furniture companies to be listed on the luxury e-commerce portal Artemest (traditionally reserved only for companies with centuries-old craft techniques). Products: sofas, armchairs, tables, sideboards, luminaires, individually configurable modular systems (Zero collection). Applications: residential, hotels, gastronomy, office.
For architects and interior designers seeking for residential, hospitality and contract projects a young Milan design brand that since 2014 has developed an independent, future-oriented design language of "New Made in Italy" through robotic additive manufacturing and recycled materials, whose entire design and production process follows the circular economy principle, and which is recognised by the traditional craft world through its listing on Artemest — Elli is a demonstrably innovative address in the segment of sustainable contemporary designer furniture from Italy.
