ALPES-INOX was founded in 1954 by Nico Moretto — initially in Campodarsego near Venice, later relocated to Bassano del Grappa (Veneto). Moretto had previously worked as a draughtsman in the technical department of Smalterie Metallurgiche Venete and decided to produce exclusively in stainless steel. In 1964 he brought the first built-in appliances to market: sinks, hobs, ovens and cooker hoods in stainless steel. Today the company is led by his sons Aldo and Bruno Moretto. In 2024, ALPES-INOX celebrated its 70th anniversary.

The defining quality mark is 19/10 chrome-nickel stainless steel, which produces a unique silver tone — non-oxidising, hygienic and durable over decades. The programme is structured around two lines: Liberi in Cucina (2018, freestanding kitchen systems — modular, repositionable, often on castors, without the character of built-in furniture) and Strumenti d'Oggi (individual appliances and accessories). Outdoor kitchen modules are also available. In 1998, the company received the Compasso d'Oro from the ADI for its flip-up hob, alongside an honourable mention for the electronic exhaust system. Sales offices are established in Europe, Asia and North America (New York).

For architects and kitchen planners, ALPES-INOX is relevant when industrially inspired, timeless stainless steel kitchens are sought — with exceptionally high material quality, Compasso d'Oro design credentials and flexible spatial positioning — for demanding residential and restaurant projects.
